BRP Coil Protection Module

01General Features

The BRP is a coil voltage regulation module designed with flexible options to prevent brake and governor coils from being continuously exposed to high current.

02How It Works

The module first applies full voltage to the coil and drops it to the selected ratio after 3 seconds. This delivers the power the coil needs to pull in, while reducing heating and energy consumption during the holding phase.

First 3 seconds

The coil pulls in at 220 V or 110 V depending on the switch position — full pull-in force is delivered here.

After 3 seconds

The voltage drops to the ratio selected with the second switch. The coil keeps holding, with less heating and consumption.

04Output Options

Output behaviour is determined by the position of the two switches on the device.

05Wiring

Terminal names

Mains voltage

The input terminals carry 220 V AC mains voltage. Switch off the power before wiring and confirm by measurement that it is off.

ORDERConnection order
  1. Switch off the power and confirm by measurement that it is off.
  2. Connect the 220 V AC supply to the AC terminals.
  3. Connect the coil to the + and terminals.
  4. Set the switches to suit your application — see Output options.
  5. Switch the power on and observe the pull-in and holding behaviour.
